Sleek Makeup Nude collection

14 September 2011
Sleek Makeup recently launched the Nude Collection that consist of a divine eyeshadow palette, a blush and a pout polish.

The divine palette is called Au Naturel and its is (as all divine palettes) has 12 eyeshadow and a 2 sided sponge brush. It has all the basic colors to create the nude/natural look. The palette's size is fairly small comparing to MAC's palettes, i was a bit shocked when i first saw it because i didnt ever notice the original size on the website. But its very cute, and you can put it anywhere even inside your handbag, its pretty handy and doesnt take alot of space in my make up drawers.

The quality of the eyshadow isnt as good as MAC's, you should know that this palette costs $10.50, so you will get what you pay for, there is alot of fall outs, it is even obvious in the pictures and i havent used it yet, so imagine what its gonna look like after its been used (on my next post i will show you all my Sleek Makeup collections, and how much fall outs i have in one of the palettes). I noticed the fall outs comes more from the shimmery eyeshadow and not the mattes. So dont think of ever using the eyeshadow without an eyeshadow primer.

The second item is the blusher, its called Suede and its very pigmented, it kind of reminded me of Illamasqua blushers where you only have to use as minimum as possible, you dont have to sweep the brush, just dap its tip and this will be more than enough, and do it as often as you need if you needed to build up the color. The size is fairly reasonable, a little bit similar to NARS's and it looks pretty neat in the photo, no fall outs whatsoever. The blush costs $6.50.

The third item is the Pout Polish, called Bare Minimum and its is very similar to MAC's tinted moisturizers and also has an SPF15. This PP doesnt have any color, it works like a regular lip moisturizer, it helps condition chapped lips. It contains jojoba, avocado and sweet almond oil, and it smells really yummy, like a vanilla scent. The PP costs $6.50.
I've never purchased any PP from any previous collections, but i thought of trying this one because i first thought that it has a stronger color, like a gloss or so, but its not, its as nude as it can be.

TOPSHOP Makeup

13 September 2011
Last year TOPSHOP decided to launch a makeup line that reflect their fashionable clothes, with reasonable prices (or as they say). I dont know when exactly we had the make up in our stores because i have been out of market for a very long time!! But i am trying to compensate in my shopping sprees now :-D

I visited the Dubai Mall store and i had no idea they had make up in there, i was shopping for clothes and i saw the make up counter. My first impression that it reminded me of Mrs. Selfridge make up (if you can remember the store at Fotouh Al Khair before it was closed), but when i used it, it is definitely way better in quality.

The packaging is very cute, most of it is white with black strips and dots. But it kind of dissapoint me for not having a wide color range, they werent showing everything i've seen at the website, and the security tags and plastics were covering some of the numbers and names of the shades which ended by me getting the wrong shade of bronzer. Even the sales lady didnt help me, actually she's the one who insisted that the one i bought is the same shade i want. When i went back home and opened the package i was very dissapointed, the color was obviously darker than my shade. I couldnt go back and replace it..So i will probably give it to my sun tanned sister until i go back to store and get the shade i want.

Since they didnt have everything and i wasnt very much impressed with the available colors, i only picked up a bronzer and a matte lipstick called Desert. After using it i have to say that it is one of my favorites, i absolutely loved it, especially when i wear a MAC Kumquat Lipglass on top. The color is described as nude but its not at all, it has a lovely peachy tone into it, it even looks a bit orange in the photos (the lipstick looks very dark in the photos).

Sigma Synthetic Kabuki Brushes

11 September 2011

Sigma Beauty introduced the three synthetic kabuki brushes months ago and i had to buy them after reading alot of good reviews on how amazing they are in applying foundations.
I couldnt use them all at once and it took me so long to build my judgement because i had a different use for one of the brushes.
The first brush i used is the F82-Round Top Kabuki. The brush is described as :"The F82 Round Top Kabuki brush simplifies precise makeup application under the eyes and around the nose. This brush is also perfect for achieving flawless coverage using liquid and powder products. Features synthetic Sigmax HD fibers."

I didnt change my way in applying foundations "by the Beauty Blender", but to achieve a really nice and flawless look i apply the powder foundation on top using this brush. Since the brush is so dense it picks alot of product and packs alot, it doesnt look too powdery and it depends on the kind of powder you're using, i use the MAC Studio Fix powder foundation. It gave me this flawless looking skin and i loved it. And as it says its best used around the eyes and nose. The round shape of the brush makes it so easy reaching such areas.

The second brush i used is the F80-Flat Top Kabuki. The brush is described as: "The F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush is perfect for applying and blending liquid, cream, and powder products onto the skin. The flat surface allows perfect buffing with flawless results. Features synthetic Sigmax HD fibers."
Sigma F80-Flat Top Kabuki brush
This is one weird flat looking brush, the brush didnt convince me on how good it is until i used it. Its very soft on the skin and i can easily apply the foundation in no time. The blending is very smooth and nice. The size of the brush is perfect to be used on the face, not to small or too big. I first used this brush in applying Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer.

The third brush is the F84-Angleed Top Kabuki. The brush is described as: "The F84 Angled Top Kabuki brush is the perfect brush for precise, yet blended application of products on the cheeks. It seamlessly applies cream, powder and liquid products. Features synthetic Sigmax HD fibers."
Sigma F84-Angled Top Kabuki brush
This may be the best brush among them because of the angeled top, it makes it easier for the user to reach some difficult areas like around the nose and around the eyes and apply the foundation properly. I havent used this brush for cream blushes because i dont use them often, and i'd rather use the MAC 187 or 188 Duo Fiber or Sigma F50 Stippling brushes.

The New IT BAG "LONGCHAMP LE PLIAGE"

10 September 2011
When my sister came back from her summer trip to France, she was wearing the ugliest bag i've ever seen on her, she was wearing it every single day and for everywhere, i even thought to myself "doesnt she feel embarrased wearing such an ugly bag?!!", she even told me that almost everyone in Paris was wearing one (YEAH, RIGHT!!).
Now i cannot call it the "ugliest" because it really grew on me..the more i saw her wearing it i fell in love with it..Its the new IT BAG..

LONGCHAMP Le Pliage is a shopping tote that comes in different sizes and colors, the fabric is nylon with tanned leather. The bag is simple and plain, there is no complication in the design or the fabric.

I will have to say that this tote doesnt suit parties or special occasion, this bag is designed to make you feel comfortable, think of a full day shopping, at the beach, while traveling or staying the night somewhere.

The smaller size

The cool thing about Le Pliage that it can be folded, so you dont have to worry about how big it is and where to store it. (you can see it folded in the below picture, the small red folded one).
So what is your opinion about this bag? do you like it? and would you buy it? i spotted few people wearing it in Abu Dhabi but i dont think they realize that this bag might be the new "IT" bag :-D
